San Jose Jazz Summer Fest Set for Aug. 10-12
Terence Blanchard, Crusaders, Rene Marie and many more scheduled
The 23rd Annual San Jose Jazz Summer Fest will take place from Friday, August 10 - Sunday, August 12, at Plaza de Cesar Chavez Park in downtown San Jose and in surrounding venues.
Featured acts at this year’s Summer Fest include Morris Day & the Time, the Jazz Crusaders featuring Joe Sample, Wayne Henderson and Wilton Felder, the Spinners, Dianne Reeves, Terence Blanchard, Boney James, Coco Montoya, Rene Marie, Tia Fuller, Ivan Neville's Dumpstaphunk, Tony Monaco Group, Jeff Hamilton Trio, Alessandro Penezzi Quartet, Lula Washington Dance Theatre, Marcus L. Miller w/Freedom Jazz Movement, Wil Campa y Su Gran Union, Pacific Mambo Orchestra, Amanda Shaw & The Cute Guys, Yoshiaki Miyanoue Tokyo Quartet, Adam Theis & Subharmonic, BlackMahal, Jackeline Rago & the Venezuelan Music Project, Team Bahia, Ben Flocks, Kat Parra Latin World Ensemble, Yesberger Band, Vitchev/Tamburr New Quartet, Girls Got the Blues, La Tenaza Trio, and many more.
The festival features 11 stages of live music representing an array of genres such as jazz, Latin, salsa, soul, pop, swing, R&B, funk and the music of Brazil, Cuba, Argentina, and Japan. New attractions at this year's Summer Fest will include “Women in Latin Jazz” featuring eight female-led bands at the Castellano Latin. Two big bands will kick off the Kaiser Permanente Salsa Stage on August 10. Summer Fest will feature a new pop-up Blues Club and a local music-curated Silicon Valley Stage. More than 100 food and craft vendors will participate at this year's festival.
