Béla Fleck, Marcus Roberts Trio to Release Album, Tour

Collaboration followed impromptu jam at festival

Banjo virtuoso Béla Fleck will join with the Marcus Roberts Trio—Roberts (piano), Rodney Jordan (bass) and Jason Marsalis (drums)—for a collaborative album and tour. The album, Across the Imaginary Divide, will be released June 5 on Rounder Records, produced by Fleck and Roberts.

The project had its roots at a Savannah Music Festival jam session when Fleck performed with the trio in front of a small audience. All agreed to reconvene in the studio and to tour.
