DC Jazz Festival to Present Jazz in the ’Hoods Performance Series
Neighborhood venues to host more than 80 performances citywide
Washington. D.C.’s annual Jazz in the ’Hoods performance series will return during the 8th annual DC Jazz Festival from June 1-10. The festival features more than 80 performances spread out over 10 days at more than 50 museums, clubs, restaurants, hotels, and galleries across the city. Free and ticketed performances take place in 21 neighborhoods, including Adams Morgan, Capitol Hill, Chinatown, Downtown, Dupont Circle, Foggy Bottom, Georgetown, the H Street Corridor, Southeast, Southwest, Takoma Park, the U Street Corridor and Woodley Park. Participating venue partners include Atlas Performing Arts Center, Bohemian Caverns, Gallery O on H, The Hamilton, Howard Theatre, Sixth & I Historic Synagogue, and Twins Jazz, among others.
As part of Jazz in the ‘Hoods, the Anat Cohen Quartet will take the stage at Sixth & I Historic Synagogue on June 7 to showcase modern and traditional jazz, classical music, Brazilian choro, Argentine tango, and Afro-Cuban styles.
