DC Jazz Festival to Honor Kenny Barron and Ron Carter
Lifetime achievement award recipients will also perform with Stefon Harris and Lewis Nash
Pianist Kenny Barron and bassist Ron Carter will receive lifetime achievement awards from the DC Jazz Festival at its 8th annual Festival, held June 1-10. Barron and Carter will be honored at the festival’s signature concert, Jazz Meets the Classics. The two musicians will team with Stefon Harris and Lewis Nash to perform interpretations of works by Bach, Mozart and Tchaikovsky.

Past awardees include Jimmy Heath, Eddie Palmieri, James Moody, Ellis Marsalis, George Wein, Buck Hill, Clark Terry, Hank Jones, Dr. Billy Taylor and Dave Brubeck.
