Benefit Concert Tonight for Jazz Musicians Emergency Fund

Lovano, Scofield, Mehldau, others to perform at NYC event

The fourth annual benefit concert for the Jazz Foundation Of America will take place at Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola in Manhattan tonight at 7:30 p.m. The program, titled Playing Our Parts, will raise money for the foundation’s Jazz Musicians Emergency Fund, aiding musicians who do not have health care insurance. All of the artists are donating their time. The concert is in remembrance of jazz bassist Dennis Irwin, who passed away in 2008 due to a serious illness.

Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola is located at Frederick P. Rose Hall, home of Jazz at Lincoln Center, on Broadway at 60th St., New York City.
