N.J. Book Signing for Norman Granz Biographer Tad Hershorn

Granz managed Ella Fitzgerald and founded Jazz at the Philharmonic

Dana Library at Rutgers University in Newark, N.J., will host a book signing and author talk for Institute of Jazz Studies archivist Tad Hershorn this Wednesday. The discussion will focus on his recently published book, Norman Granz: The Man Who Used Jazz for Justice. The book is a biography of the producer who managed Ella Fitzgerald and Oscar Peterson, as well as founding Verve and the Jazz at the Philharmonic concert series.

The event takes place April 11 from 4-7 p.m. in the Dana Room of the John Cotton Dana Library. The event will coincide with an exhibit that Hershorn has curated on the fourth floor gallery in Dana.
