Charlie Haden & Hank Jones’ Final Collaboration. ‘Come Sunday,’ Out Next Week

Haden will receive an NEA Jazz Masters Award the same day as the release

Come Sunday, a collaboration between bassist Charlie Haden and the late pianist Hank Jones, will be released Jan. 10 on EmArcy Records. A collection of classic spirituals, hymns and folk songs, the CD marks the follow-up to their 1995 Grammy-nominated recording Steal Away, and was the last collaboration between two longtime friends and colleagues. In a career spanning over 70 years, Hank Jones passed away in 2010 at the age of 91, shortly after completing this album.
