Chiara Izzi, Italian SInger, Wins Shure Montreux Voice Competition
26-year-old is first Italian to be awarded
Chiara Izzi, a 26-year-old Italian singer, has won the Shure Montreux Jazz Voice Competition 2011. Izzi is the first Italian winner of this competition and has been awarded by Quincy Jones (president of the jury). The contest took place during the 45th Montreux Jazz Festival, and is open only to singers under 35. She was chosen among singers from 21 different countries. A jury selected 10 singers to play at the semifinal in Montreux in July.
