92Y 2011-2012 Season to Spotlight Vocalists

Paula West, Sandy Stewart and Kurt Elling scheduled

This season, 92Y Jazz, presented by the 92nd Street Y on New York’s Upper East Side, will spotlight vocalists. Scheduled performances are:

PAULA WEST
Sat, Nov 19, 8 pm, $70 / $50 / $25 (age 35 & under)

Called one of the hardest-swinging jazz vocalists working today, the San Francisco singer will be joined by the George Mesterhazy Quartet.

Vocalist Stewart has worked with songwriters like Richard Rodgers, Jule Styne and Cy Coleman. Her son, Bill Charlap, is a premier jazz pianist and artistic director of 92Y’s Jazz in July festival. They’ll be joined by Harry Allen (saxophone); Peter Washington (bass); and Kenny Washington (drums).
