Les Paul’s Birthday Saluted by Google
The site and search engine posts an interactive guitar “doodle” in recognition of the guitarist’s 96th birthday on June 9
Most people know the late Les Paul for his work as a guitarist, but not necessarily for his penchant for tinkering and inventing. Widely credited with inventing the electric guitar, Paul was always working on gadgets related to music.
In recognition of Paul’s birthday and his inventive ways, the search engine site Google has created an interactive doodle in the form of a virtual guitar that enables you play a tune and save it for yourself or others. You can pluck away using your keyboard or mouse to create your string masterpiece or maybe even play a little “How High the Moon” in honor of Paul. One small caveat: the doodle is only there for users in the U.S. and Canada.
