Newport Jazz Festival Announces 2011 Lineup

Headliners for historic festival to include Wynton Marsalis, Hiromi, Esperanza Spalding, Trombone Shorty and others

The Newport Jazz Festival announced its lineup for the 2011 festival that takes place on August 5-7. Minus last year’s sponsor—CareFusion—George Wein’s flagship event will have the same structure as it has had for many years, with a Friday night outdoor concert on the grounds of the International Tennis Hall of Fame and two full days of performances at Fort Adams State Park. In addition, Rhode Island jewelry designer and manufacturer Alex and Ani have agreed to sponsor this year’s festival.
