Dustin Hoffman, Jazz Musician?

Oscar-winning actor Dustin Hoffman would like to become a respected jazz musician. According to an article published in several news outlets, the 71-year-old star told Flaunt Magazine, “I promised myself that before I kick the bucket I’d become a decent jazz player.”

Unfortunately, Hoffman does not play an instrument, but he’s working on that deficiency now by taking piano lessons. “The guy I’m practicing with says he’ll have me playing in a year,” Hoffman was quoted as saying. “If God tapped me on the shoulder and offered me an ultimatum, acting or jazz piano, I’d make the decision in a New York minute!”

Whoa Dustin.Old age really does make you senile. Sure, I'd trade a life of fame and fortune for one of abject poverty any day.

@Karen I agree. We live in an age of panty waists. I just want to point out to Mr. Dusty that playing "Someday My Prince Will Come" with only a crackhead vocalist separating you from a wedding party of yuppie zombies ain't no pickle an cheese sandwich. Know what I mean?

By the way Miss Karen, your artwork looks real nice. You should put some of that up on this here Interweb.

Actually. He does play an instrument. Dustin has played the piano forever. I don't know where you get your info. However, it was classical music to my knowledge. He once played on the tonite show. You may be able to search that. But he definitely plays since a child. I don't know about jazz though.
