Lincoln Center Jazz Hall of Fame and Jazz.com Websites Launched
Two new jazz websites have recently debuted, each offering a different approach. The first, Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Nesuhi Ertegun Jazz Hall of Fame, is named after the late Atlantic Records executive (pictured) who championed jazz. It features comprehensive information on the NEJFH’s 30 inductees, including genre greats such as Louis Armstrong, John Coltrane, Django Reinhardt, Coleman Hawkins and Ella Fitzgerald. Specifically, the website will include slideshows, a streaming jukebox that will play songs by the recognized artists and detailed timelines that chronicle the lives of each artist. The website will be updated as new members are inducted to the Nesuhi Ertegun Jazz Hall of Fame.
The other site, Jazz.com, features 3,000 pages of unique content, such as album reviews, interviews with artists, discographies and photos. Almost two years of preparation by a team of 30 writers, photographers and artists have led to a website that includes the largest collection of track reviews available anywhere (on the Internet and otherwise), new reviews published daily, an up-to-date blog on jazz news, regular columns and a variety of bulletin boards for website visitors.
