Inaugural North Sea Jazz Cruise

Those looking for ideas will be pleased to learn that the North Sea Jazz Festival has announced the inaugural sailing of the North Sea Jazz Cruise. The ms Rotterdam is set to take sail from Copenhagen on July 5, 2007, cruising the North Sea, the Elbe River, and hitting cities in Germany, Norway and Sweden before coming back to Rotterdam, acting as a floating hotel for guests as they enjoy the North Sea Jazz Fest on July 13.
Did we mention the cruise features performances by some of the best jazz musicians in the world? Bassist Marcus Miller will host the cruise and work as the artistic director, scheduling performances and acting as a curator for many of the nights at sea. Performers already slated to appear onboard include Dee Dee Bridgewater, Medeski, Scofield, Martin and Wood, Lionel Loueke, the Roy Hargrove Quintet, Roberta Gambarini, Kirk Whalum and the McCoy Tyner Trio, among many others.
