North Sea Jazz Cruise Debuts in 2007

On July 5, 2007, the first-ever North Sea Jazz Cruise will embark in Copenhagen. Touring the North Sea, the Elbe and a collection of major European cities, the cruise offers seven days of complete jazz immersion with a luxurious travel experience.

In a recent press release, Executive Director of Jazz Cruises Michael Lazaroff says, "The North Sea Jazz Cruise will be the perfect synergy of music and travel.” Guests onboard the cruise will enjoy a full lineup of jazz performances directed by bassist-composer-producer Marcus Miller (pictured). The schedule includes performers from the North Sea Jazz Festival as well as other artists.

After the seven-day cruise, the ship will dock in Rotterdam and act as a “floating hotel” for patrons of the 2007 North Sea Jazz Festival, which runs from July 13-15. Festival director Jan Willem Luyken calls the cruise “a natural extension of the jazz experience we offer at the North Sea Jazz Festival.” The indoor festival, now in its 30th year, offers a lineup of 200 jazz performances and attracts 70,000 visitors annually.
