Performers and Dates for Reno Jazz Fest Announced
The Maria Schneider Big Band (pictured) and Nancy King are set to headline the 44th annual Reno Jazz Festival April 27-29 in Reno, Nev. The festival draws more than 10,000 attendees annually, who come not only to hear music and see performances, but also to attend daytime competitions, workshops and clinics by dozens of professional jazz artists. The three-day festival concludes with a festival showcase concert and awards ceremony to honor selected participants.
Nancy King and the University of Nevada’s faculty ensemble, the Collective, will kick off the festival April 27 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $15, or $12 for seniors and For the Love of Jazz Reno members, and $8 for students.
The Maria Schneider Big Band will perform the following day at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for the concert are $24 for general admission, $18 for seniors and FTLOJ members and $12 for students.
The final event is the Reno Jazz Festival Showcase Concert and Awards Ceremony, which takes place April 29 at 6:30 p.m. The concert will feature the winners of the Reno Jazz Festival All-Star Performers competition and encore performances from some of the highest-ranking groups and soloists. Tickets for this event are $12 for general admission, $10 for seniors and FTLOJ members and $6 for students.
Tickets are also available as a package, excluding the April 27 performance. The Jazz Fan Ticket Package provides entrance to all festival events on April 28 and 29 and is priced at $50 for general admission and $40 for seniors and FTLOJ members.
