John Lee Hooker Jr. Signs to Telarc, to Tour

John Lee Hooker Jr., son of the legendary bluesman, has signed to Telarc and is scheduled to enter the studio later this month to record his debut. The album is tentatively titled Cold as Ice and will be released June 27.

Even though Hooker has huge shoes to fill, he has garnered praise in his own right. His 2004 debut album, Blues with a Vengeance on Kent, earned a Grammy nomination for best traditional blues album and a Handy Award for best debut album.

In addition to recording, Hooker has a busy touring schedule planned for the first half of 2006.
