Like Graham Haynes, Erik Truffaz, Jon Hassell and Nils Petter Molvaer, Dutch trumpeter Eric Vloeimans likes to dabble in electronics. This audacious live outing captures his adventurous electric quartet in concert at the Lantaren Theater in Rotterdam. A first-rate improviser possessing a depth of jazz experience, Vloeimans blows with harmonizer effects on “Magnolia,” triggers eerie delay lines on the atmospheric “Ravens and Wolves” and summons up Miles-inspired muted trumpet work on the noir-ish “Prince of Darkness.”
