Ringleader-drummer Sean Noonan has corralled an A-team of talent on this punk-funk-world music offering. Bassist Jamaaladeen Tacuma, viola ace Mat Manieri and guitar skronker Marc Ribot are along for the ride here with Armenian guitarist Aram Bajakian, African vocalist Abdoulaye Diabate and Irish folk singer Susan McKeown. Tacuma holds down the funk while the rest pile on in freewheeling jams like “Esspi,” “Zaman,” the hypnotic “Noonbrews” and the caustic “Pat the Cat.” Includes a DVD of performances in New York, Holland and Slovenia.
