This 31-minute solo outing by singer-songwriter Rock-berger is intensely personal, a collection of simply-stated songs dealing with themes of love, inner strength and finding an anchor in difficult times. Against jazzy electric piano lines that are both heartfelt and disarmingly rough around the edges, Rockberger’s breathy, R&B-inspired vocals are expanded through multi-tracking into a soulful chorus. But he dispenses with the gimmickry for “Guide Me Home,” the disc’s most unaffected and striking tune.
