Chicago Blues Reunion: Buried Alive in the Blues

Organist Barry Goldberg, guitarist-vocalist Nick Gravenites, guitarist Harvey Mandel, vocalist Tracy Nelson, drummer Sam Lay and harmonica player Corky Siegel all survived the 1960s Chicago blues-rock scene. They reunited for a special performance taping at a small club, recording fairly good audio quality, but with minimal video production values (mostly a single, locked-down camera).
What saves the DVD is the musician's vignettes describing their experiences being young, white, middle-class and inexperienced yet still accepted and groomed by blues immortals. Also interwoven into it are interviews of B.B. King, Buddy Guy and Joel Selvin (pop critic for the San Francisco Chronicle), along with segments featuring Muddy Waters, Johnny Winter, Michael Bloomfield and Jr. Wells, along with the Bloomfield's Electric Flag.
