Jason Miles
Miles to Miles
Narada Media

Jason Miles' recordings typically feature a who's who of top artists from which he is able to draw extraordinary performances, and Miles to Miles is no exception. Like Davis, Miles fuses genres to create interesting combinations, like the funky/soulful "Ferrari," which recalls a memorable ride in Davis' car and features edgy soloing from saxophonist Michael Brecker as well as turntable scratching. Trumpeter Randy Brecker and Dave Matthews Band drummer Carter Beauford give "King of the Bling," which salutes Davis' sartorial style, plenty of strut, and smooth-jazz guitarist Marc Antoine and keyboardist Keiko Matsui provide sensitive accompaniment to singer Pamela Driggs on a significantly reimagined version of Kind of Blue's "Flamenco Sketches."
