“Possibilities,” Herbie Hancock’s Memoir, Due Oct. 28
Book will cover the icon’s musical career and other endeavors
Viking Books will publish Herbie Hancock: Possibilities, the memoir by the jazz superstar, on October 28, it was announced by the publisher. Co-written with author Lisa Dickey, the book delves into Hancock’s long career “as a musician, composer, professor, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador, father, husband and innovator,” according to a press release.
In addition to his music, Hancock currently serves as Creative Chair for Jazz for the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association and as Institute Chairman of the Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz. He is also a UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador and this year was named the 2014 Norton Professor Of Poetry at Harvard University, where he recently completed his lectures series, “The Ethics Of Jazz,” as part of the Charles Eliot Norton Lecture Series in February for a period of six weeks.
