Buddy Rich Drum Solos Album to Be Released In May

Excerpts from nine unreleased 1976-77 shows

An album consisting entirely of live drum solos by the late Buddy Rich is being released May 13 by Lightyear Entertainment and Lobitos Creek Ranch, in association with Scabeba Entertainment and the Buddy Rich Estate. The excerpts comprising The Solos come from nine performances by the late drummer and bandleader from 1976 and ’77.

According to a press release, “This rare, previously unreleased and all original production was recorded with Buddy’s permission by bandmate Alan Gauvin, who has also now mixed and edited the project together. The album was mastered by Tom Swift.”
