David Krakauer to Stage Monthlong Multimedia Show, “The Big Picture”

Clarinetist will also release a companion CD

Clarinetist David Krakauer will showcase his new project, The Big Picture, a multimedia production, at the Museum of Jewish Heritage in downtown Manhattan over a period of four weeks premiering Jan. 29. The concert tells Krakauer’s story in what a press release describes as “an artful marriage of music and the moving image. The clarinetist has taken themes from iconic films with Jewish content and re-imagined them with a band of world-class musicians.”


A companion CD release is scheduled for Feb. 18. The personnel is as follows:

David Krakauer: clarinet
Jenny Scheinman: violin
Adam Rogers: guitars
Rob Burger: keys, organ, accordion, vibes
Greg Cohen: double bass
Jim Black: drums, percussion

Sheryl Bailey: guitar
