Brad Jones
Uncivilized Poise
Knitting Factory

Who is Brad Jones? Act like you knew: Harlem-born, recording/touring acoustic/electric bass sideman with: Jazz Passengers, Ornette's Prime Time Band, Elvin Jones, Marc Ribot, Muhal Richard Abrams, Carlos Garnett, Sean Lennon.
Jones brings sound bites of past gig transmissions plus some hip-hop static to his first solo-cipher program, Uncivilized Poise. Funkazoid jazz fusion like back in the day (only fresh), UP stretches from the bass/drum-diddy-bopping-Maceo’s sax-abstracting-Herbie-Fender-piano-swiveying-MC-ripping “Black Bread” to “Are We Having Fun Yet?”’s adrenaline turboing mixture of stank fusion riffs/guitar power swings (David Gilmore) to the calypso/house/R&B diva (D.K. Dyson) Harmolodics-swinging “Intrepid Storm.”
