Jazz Orchestra of Philadelphia to Debut Jan. 7 at Verizon Hall
17-piece orchestra is led by Terell Stafford; Bill Cosby will emcee
The Jazz Orchestra of Philadelphia will give its debut performance in that city’s Verizon Hall on Jan. 7 at 7:30 p.m. The Grand Gala Fundraising Concert is presented by the Kimmel Center. Under the artistic direction of trumpeter Terell Stafford and founding director Deena Adler, the 17-member Jazz Orchestra of Philadelphia features a lineup of national and Philly musicians including Wynton Marsalis, Jimmy Heath, Kenny Barron, Randy Brecker, Odean Pope and others. Bill Cosby will emcee the event.
