Houston native Trudy Lynn lives up to her title of "Divine Diva of Blues and Soul" on her seventh solo album, U Don't Know What Time It Is (Ruf 5141614572; 41:24). This one marks a slight departure from her traditional R&B style and takes a turn towards a funkier blues and soul sound, as on "Baby Come On Back," "I Should Have Known" and the title track. In addition to being backed by her topnotch band, this passionate, elegant offering also boasts guest appearances by Lucky Peterson and Bernard Allison.
