D.C. Premiere of Wayne Shorter’s “Gaia” on Sept. 26
Shorter’s quartet will be joined by National Symphony Orchestra Pops + Spalding
The National Symphony Orchestra Pops will appear in concert with Wayne Shorter and his quartet, joined by bassist/vocalist Esperanza Spalding September 26 at 8 p.m. in the Kennedy Center Concert Hall. The concert features the Washington area premiere of Shorter's Gaia and celebrates Shorter's 80th birthday. The performance is led by guest conductor Vince Mendoza and features Wayne Shorter Quartet members Danilo Perez (piano), John Patitucci (bass), and Brian Blade (drums).
